What is Values Education?

Values Education is education which contributes to

the development of values in learners. It is concerned

with the formation of character and the development

of effective decision making skills.

Values Education is not a ‘stand alone’ subject in the

school curriculum, but should be integrated with and

relevant to all subjects in the syllabus as well as other

aspects of the wider learning experience.

Values Education is at its best when it involves all members

of the learning community – teachers, students, and

non-teaching staff in a 'whole school approach'.
